We formed the Salinas Opera Company last month (it was going to be The Salinas Opera Society, but we decided that that name might imply that we were in Desperate need of help!). At the moment the company consists of our fabulous pianist, Lucy Faridany, our magnificent bass, James Grainger and our aged tenor, Alfred Harris.
The purpose of our Company is for us, the participants, to have fun learning, performing & communicating our historic wealth of music. Music is our love, our mind altering drugs, if you will, and, its still legal! We don’t expect fame or fortune. We perform mostly in churches/retirement communities. If you have any particular requests let us know.
Regarding background Lucy Faridany has an impressive musical education in England and the United States. James Grainger, mostly trained in New York, has had an operatic career in Europe. Alfred Harris started as a choirboy in pre-historic times and pursued music as an avocation in England and Europe while making a living06.07.09 |
