| Who We Are |
Stephen Tosh is first and foremost a composer of
serious modern classical music. He began serious
composition at the age of 14, and always enjoyed
an active interest for his work in the Salinas and
Carmel areas. Such institutions as Hidden Valley
Music Seminars, Hartnell College Theater (Salinas),
Ensemble Monterey, the Cabrillo College Choral
Department and Pacific Repertory Theater of Carmel
have all sponsored and commissioned works from
him over the last thirty years. Having moved to
Paso Robles in 1981, he has also expanded his
audience to include the Central Coast. Mr. Tosh has
created a large selection of works, including
5 symphonies, 2 piano sonatas, a clarinet sonata,
a string quartet, a piano quintet, a woodwind quintet, 3 trios, 3 concertos, 3 operas,
a piano suite, 6 song cycles, pieces for pipe organ, 10 musicals, and countless other
works

| including music for dressage. His talent as a pianist as well as a composer,
and his versatility with commercial and classical idioms, has allowed him to remain
a full-time professional musician all his adult life.
He has also been involved with many theater companies on the central coast such
as the Pacific Repertory Theater in Carmel, Western Stage in Salinas, Forest Theatre
in Carmel, and many productions with Pioneer Players in Paso Robles. |
