| Who We Are |
Peter Tuff: Baritone Peter Tuff has been hailed
as “an outstanding singer” (Salzburger Nachrichten),
“impressive…strong and commanding” (San Francisco
Examiner) and “the ideal romantic hero in voice and
appearance” (Reno Gazette). He grew up in Salinas,
California, and studied both voice and French horn at
Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington.
That was followed by ten years of private study in
San Francisco with the late Dickson Titus.
He performed often with opera companies and
orchestras on the West coast before moving to Vienna,
Austria. There, Peter was a member of the Vienna
State Opera for six seasons, working with conductors
Riccardo Muti, Lorin Maazel, Claudio Abbado,
Sir George Solti, Carlos Kleiber, Kent Nagano, Zubin Mehta, and many others. His
many Salzburg Festival performances include Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress and
in Richard Strauss’ Der Rosenkavalier.
